Agility Prep Workshop – Learn what you need to know before and during a trial

Are you new to agility? Frustrated by the registration process? Unsure what to do when you get to a trial? Or just wanting a better command of agility rules?

Paula Ratoza, trainer, handler, and AKC and UKI agility judge will review the things you need to do before the trial weekend, what to do when you arrive and before you enter the ring, and what you should or shouldn’t do inside the ring so you and your dog don’t get eliminated.

This workshop is for handlers new to the sport of agility.  Whether you’ve already trialed, or your first trial weekend is coming up soon, Paula will help you navigate the steps leading up to a successful agility experience.

General topics that apply to most agility venues will be covered including:

  • entering a trial
  • checking in before you show
  • measuring your dog
  • etiquette
  • safety

Rules specific to AKC that applies to both inside the ring and the remainder of the show grounds will be discussed. Paula will share the rules that most often that trip up competitors.

Time will be allowed for questions relating to agility trials
